About the group
Bookies is a small group of 12 to 15 readers who share different opinions, laughter, and memories over a cup of tea. The books range from fiction and biographies to world issues and general nonfiction, and the list often includes one you would never pick up but read anyway, with a growing interest.
Books the group read in 2025 included Lessons in Chemistry, A Walk in the Woods, and The Book of Lost Names.
The Pembroke Library helps by ordering the books through interlibrary loan. The current book list is posted on the board outside the church office. If you have read one of the books, you are welcome to drop in for the discussion.
